The 2026 SNP - PAP Customer Conference, themed “Forward Together - Embracing a New Era”, was more than an appreciation event for over 300 shipping lines, customers and partners. Based on more than one year of cooperation between Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) and Phuoc An Port (PAP), the message for Southern Vietnam’s logistics sector is becoming clearer: to reduce costs, accelerate cargo flows and strengthen competitiveness, ports must be placed within a broader connected ecosystem linking industrial parks, inland waterways, customs, warehousing, depots and digital logistics services.

One Year of Cooperation and Market Signals

According to information from the conference held on May 13, 2026 at Phuoc An Port, after more than one year of cooperation, SNP and PAP attracted 8 shipping lines, developed 7 service routes, handled 197 vessel calls and reached 190,642 TEUs. These figures are meaningful for an early-stage cooperation model because they reflect market confidence in operating capability, service stability and the potential of a new connectivity point within Southern Vietnam’s logistics network.

Mr. Bui Van Quy — Colonel, Deputy Commander of Army Corps 20, and Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation , delivered the opening remarks.

For SNP, the strength lies in its operational experience, customer network, port handling capacity and mature logistics service ecosystem. For PAP, the advantage lies in its strategic location and its ability to connect with industrial parks, production zones and key transport corridors in Dong Nai. When these capabilities are combined, the SNP - PAP cooperation not only creates additional service options for import-export enterprises, but also contributes to a more complete cargo connectivity structure in a dynamic industrial locality.

“The results after more than one year of cooperation should not be measured only by cargo volume or service routes. More importantly, they reflect market confidence. When customers choose a new service route, they are choosing operational capability, stability, long-term commitment and the ability to create lasting value for the supply chain.” - Lieutenant Colonel Truong Tan Loc, Marketing Director of Saigon Newport Corporation and Chairman of TCIT

Dong Nai and the Need for an Integrated Logistics Network

Dong Nai is entering a major growth window thanks to its economic scale, leading industrial park system and strategic infrastructure projects such as Long Thanh International Airport, expressways, ring roads and the logistics corridor connecting Cai Mep - Thi Vai. However, infrastructure advantages can only be fully realized when they are connected as a network. Seaports, industrial parks, transport routes, customs and logistics providers must operate as linked components rather than separate service points.

At the conference, issues related to transport infrastructure pressure, procedural reform, policy improvement and inland waterway development were highlighted as areas requiring coordinated action. This is why cooperation models between ecosystem-capable port operators and strategically located local ports have become increasingly important. If organized effectively, such models can shorten transport time, reduce extra costs and provide customers with more flexible service choices.

“Logistics should be regarded as the soft infrastructure of growth. When seaports, industrial parks, transport, customs and import-export enterprises are seamlessly connected, business costs decline, cargo flows accelerate and regional economic resilience is strengthened.” - Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thuc, Head of the Trade and Investment Department, Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade

From Port Location to Service Ecosystem

Modern port development is no longer limited to cargo handling at the berth. A port creates true value when it becomes a link in the flow of goods from factories to markets, from industrial parks to seaports, and from domestic transport to international shipping routes. As a result, logistics competition is shifting from competition among individual port locations to competition among ecosystems.

In this context, PAP is expected to become an extended arm and an important link in the Saigon Newport ecosystem, helping optimize logistics costs, leverage regional connectivity and create additional value for shipping lines, customers and import-export enterprises. The cooperation also illustrates a practical direction: port development is not only about hard infrastructure investment, but also about coordination capability, service quality, operational data and customer trust.

“The SNP - PAP cooperation is not a simple addition of two enterprises, but an integration within a broader logistics ecosystem. Phuoc An Port aims to become a connectivity platform for enterprises in the region, where each service is designed to help customers shorten time, optimize costs and expand market opportunities.” - Mr. Truong Hoang Hai, General Director of Phuoc An Port

The spirit of “partnership” at the conference therefore goes beyond an event message. It reflects a new requirement of supply chains: no single stakeholder can solve the entire challenge of cost, speed and reliability alone. Government agencies, customs, port operators, shipping lines, logistics service providers and import-export enterprises must jointly design a more efficient operating network.

From Logistics Hub’s perspective, SNP - PAP is a case worth following in the formation of a new logistics ecosystem for Dong Nai and Southern Vietnam. If commitments to infrastructure investment, wider connectivity, operational innovation and service quality improvement are implemented consistently, this model can help create more efficient service routes, more competitive logistics costs and a logistics space capable of supporting business growth in the next phase.
